Diplomatic Mediation

Due to recent economic conditions, many of our clients have experienced an increase aging of their receivable. Alarming, many of these slower paying organizations have proven to be long-term or “favored-status” customers, the type of customers our clients hesitate to place for normal collection activity. Due to these conditions, George, Kennedy & Silverman, Inc. has recently instituted a new program offering diplomatic recovery efforts. This program has been met with enthusiasm and success with those clients who have utilized it.

We pursue the recovery of these types of claims in a diplomatic fashion. This is accomplished in the following manner:

• We pursue the claim as a “mediator” and try to resolve the problem in a “constructive” manner.
• Our initial contact with the debtor is made as a firm conducting an audit for your company. We state that we are calling to verify the quality of their accounts receivable. We use simple probing questions to verify the amount owed and the date liquidation can be expected.
• If, as often the case, the debtor is having recovery problems, we will attempt to resolve their problems, so that we satisfy their obligation to you.
• If we find the problem lies outside of the receivables area, we will utilize our Asset and Liability Division to locate assets that the debtor may utilize to obtain a loan.
• On mediation format cases we work with our clients on a much closer basis than we usually do with normal collection proceedings.
